Fused glass, also known as warm glass or kiln-formed glass, is the art of taking broken pieces of glass and melting them together to create something new.  Fused glass is similar to blown glass, in that you need heat to melt the glass in order to make it into something different. However, unlike blown glass, no open flames or large furnaces are required. The glass fusing happens in kilns, which are slightly complicated ovens.  Also, fused glass is similar to stained glass, because you use the same types of tools to score, break and shape the raw glass.  Unlike stained glass, the pieces are joined by the heat of a kiln, not by the soldering of came around the edges.
